Shiva is the lord of Life, Vishnu, and Universe. He is also the lord of earthly beings and unearthly beings. In short he is the lord of everything and everyone and is ever blissful. He wears a garland of skulls, snakes, smears ash on his body and has matted hair from where Ganga river flows. He is Mahakal, the lord of time.
He stays under a banyan tree. He is the lord of the mountains and of his ganas (followers). He is the destroyer of sins. He shares half of his body with Maa Parvati, the daughter of the majestic mountains, Himalayas. He carries a skull and thrishul (trident) in his hands and rides on a bull (Nandi).
He is Hara, the stealer of hearts. He stays in burial grounds and destroys worldly desires. He is the essence of all Vedas and is full of wonderful ways.
